About
Stuart is an award winning photographer, creative and digital native who grew up with a camera and was an early adopter of digital photography technology. He has used the Twitter platform for over a decade, being an early adopter in 2007. He also was an early adopter of Facebook in 2006, and Instagram in 2011. As a photographer he has grown his own personal photography brand to over 32,000 followers in an engaged, connected audience and frequently works with brands and government agencies on their visual collateral. Selected visual clients, publications, and consulting clients include National Geographic Magazine, TIME, Tesoro (Andeavor) US Bank, Nissan, the United States Forest Service, and many others.
He has the benefit of a variety of experiences in the marketing and social media world, having worked with everyone from Fortune 100 CEOs to marketing interns, to federal incident commanders. He is sought after for speaking engagements and was the keynote speaker at the National Forest Foundation’s 2019 annual fundraising gala.
Stuart also works with the United States Forest Service under a highly-selective call-when-needed contract to photograph wildfire and other related incidents across the country, and is experienced with Social Media Emergency Management and communications, government agency public communications, and communication of critical information during natural disasters to stakeholders, cooperators, and the public. Stuart has worked with the Associated Press advising their journalists on best wildfire practices in America, and frequently works with individual photographers documenting climate change and related environmental issues worldwide.
He is a passionate outdoorsman and can be found spending his free time across the Western US, and is a supporter of the Eric Marsh Foundation for Wildland Firefighters. Stuart also holds a master's in Photojournalism from the University of Missouri.
